Blow Out City Baby!

In the last 8 days, Syracuse has managed to accomplish something that no other Syracuse team has done before:

Win three straight Big East games by 20+ points.

Thanks to the fine folks over at OrangeHoops.org I was able to quickly look through every Syracuse schedule for the past 30 years to figure this out. The closest any Orange team came to pulling this off before was during the 1985-86 season when they won 3 straight by 20 or more during the Big East schedule, but the third game in that streak came against Fairfield. Some would argue that beating Fairfield to complete that streak would be the equivalent of defeating Rutgers to complete this streak, but that's beside the point.

Hopefully this little three game stretch is a sign of things to come for Syracuse. The last time a Syracuse team was able to pull off a streak of at least 3 straight 20+ point victories against any form of opponent? The magical 2002-03 Championship team - when they went out and did it six consecutive times.

It is also entirely possible that this streak just means Syracuse is going to play Kansas at some point in the tournament. The other team this decade to pull off such a streak was the 00-01 team, which went on to lose to Kansas in the second round of the tournament by 29 points.
